This walk sets off from Aughris, takes one from the coastal setting of Dunmoran through the OX Mountains and along the country roads of Skreen.

Along the way one is bound to see the rare examples of Irish Flora and Fauna which exist in the area, with such animals as wild rabbits, hares and foxes often seen in this undisturbed area.

Other interesting sights include the LADIES BRAE” ,after which this route is named ..This is a short cut through the OX Mountains to areas in South Sligo. This route allows one to get an excellent and close up view of the mountains as well as the trees and plants which exist on the highly acidic peat soil of the mountains, one of the most common plants which grows on such west of Ireland soils is bog heather which is only seen in certain parts of the country.

One other interesting site is that of Longford House ( Longford Demesne) This house originates from the period when the country was under British Rule and would have belonged to some of the landlords of the time.
